About Mario Biondi
Even if you swear you’ve never heard of Mario Biondi, you’ve likely heard his music. The Sicilian singer is widely regarded as Italy’s number one soul singer, with all nine of his studio albums receiving critical acclaim. He’s currently gearing up for his first Australian tour.
Biondi’s short Australian tour will kick off in Brisbane (Meanjin) where he’ll perform at The Tivoli on Tuesday 21st May. He’ll next be wowing fans in Melbourne (Naam) at The Palms at The Crown on Friday 24th May, before wrapping up in Sydney (Eora) where he’ll perform at the Enmore Theatre the following night (25th May).
All three shows will feature Australian modern soul icon Diana Rouvas, who you may know as the winner of The Voice in 2019. Tickets for all three shows are on sale now – find them here.
The Australian dates are part of a massive world tour which will see Biondi perform in 23 countries for a total of 100 shows, in promotion of his incredible album ‘Crooning Undercover’, released last September, and which also saw the release of a solo single, ‘Et Tu Come Stai?’ featuring Anna Safroncik, last month.
Other highlights of Biondi’s career include single releases with Earth, Wind & Fire, collaborations with Chaka Khan and Michael Bolton, and even an appearance in a Disney film. In 2008, he recorded the official Italian versions of “Everybody Wants To Be A Cat” and “Thomas O’Malley” for the 1970 classic The Aristocats.
